From delicately crafted pottery to beautifully glazed porcelain, traditional ceramics have played an essential role at the heart of Asian civilization for millennia. Through the historic maritime trade routes, porcelain travelled across seas to connect Asia with Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, fostering cultural and technological exchange.
Today, Asia continues this proud tradition, not only as the historical cradle of traditional ceramic art and craft but also stands at the forefront of global innovation in advanced ceramics. Driven by this vision, the Asian Ceramic Society (ACS) was founded with the mission to provide a platform for academic exchange, industrial collaboration, and mutual inspiration among scholars, scientists, engineers, and institutions. I warmly welcome scholars, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, artists and ceramic enthusiasts from Asia and around the world to join the ACS, share your knowledge, spark new ideas, and strengthen the collective momentum that will advance the frontier of ceramics in Asia and beyond.
