Ju Eng Home for
Senior Citizens
Ju Eng, meaning “a gathering of people with noble ideas” in Chinese, was named by the late Elder Mr. Ang Oon Hue, BBM. He was the Chairman and Founder of the former Ju Eng Primary School. In the 1940s, the late Elder Ang purchased approximately two acres of freehold land in Jalan Kayu to establish the school. Over time, he applied to convert the school into a nursing home and later donated the land to the government. This generous contribution enabled the construction of a modern, full-service nursing home under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health (MOH).
