TIG is a welding process that’s known for using non-consumable tungsten electrode, accompanied by inert gas like Argon. As Tungsten metal is a rare and its purity is high, the welding quality is quite satisfying, especially for Stainless steel. That’s why TIG welding is the most common and popular welding technique for corrosion resistant steels like stainless less.
In this process, we firstly raise the temperature passing an electric current through the tungsten electrode. This creates an arc that melts the stainless steel and creates weld pool.
